The Worlds First Selfie May Surprise You
I know you thought that the “selfie” was something new, but it isn’t. In the very early days of photography it was more convenient for the experimenting photographer to act as the model in order to test the equipment.
The First Documented Selfie Was Taken In 1839
The above photo was taken in 1839 by an amateur chemist and photography enthusiast from Philadelphia named Robert Cornelius. Cornelius had set his camera up at the back of the family store. He too the image by removing the lens cap and then running into frame where he sat for a minute before coving up the lens again. This my friend is the world’s first selfie!
